Karen Burress

Dr. Matthew Ort
Hello everyone my name is Dr. Matthew Ort and I am a graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus (PCCF) where I graduated cum laude with my Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. I earned my bachelor of science in biology with a concentration in pre-medical from Nazareth College of Rochester New York. While attending Nazareth College, I was a member of the Men's Lacrosse team where I helped bring my team to a National Championship appearance in 2004. Growing up I always had an extreme passion for sports and athletics. So when I took the path to become a chiropractor I took my passion for sports and translated it into my chiropractic profession. While attending PCCF I helped develop the PCCF sports council, where we would go to athletic events and would offer complimentary chiropractic care to the athletes. We were highly trained in sports injury and treatments. In 2008 I went to Kona Hawaii and treated the Kona Ironman World Championship athletes for ten days leading up to the race and on race day I was an essential part of the medical staff. It was an amazing experience for me. In the summer of 2009 I traveled to Hyderabad, India and offered chiropractic treatments to the native people. There were 48 interns that went there with me and we treated 9,000 people in five days. Again, another amazing experience. This past summer, I was one of two team chiropractic physicians for the Central Florida Kraze, a PDL soccer team. We treated the athletes on the field, in the locker room and in the office.

I have seen great results with not only back pain, but also shoulder pain, foot pain, wrist pain, and headaches, just to name a few. One of my most gratifying chiropractic experiences came from the treatment of an eighty year-old man with shoulder pain and minimal movement of his arm. With my treatment he left with minimal pain and complete range of motion in his shoulder. Next time you are in the office feel free to ask for the whole story, I would be more then happy to share my experiences with you. I am extremely happy to be on board here at Journeys Fitness and Wellness and look forward to going the distance with you in your wellness journey.
