Pediatric Massage

“Most of our aches, pains, and stressors as adults are the result not from injuries, but from long term effects.  Distortions in posture and behavioral circumstances have their origins in childhood or adolescence.”

  Why Children Need Massage

  • Upright Posture

  • Pain release & Prevention

  • Nourishment to the muscles, helping to create injury-free participation in sports, gymnastics and dance

  • Stress reduction: emotional stability, strengthened immunity

  • Improve concentration: more aware, alert and listening carefully at school or home

  • Self image: body awareness, self confidence, self-esteem

  Postural Alignment Therapy

At Journeys Fitness and Wellness, Inc, we examine each client individually.  Each posture deviation varies from person to person.  We have put together a comfortable four-step program that will educate as well as demonstrate the benefits of postural therapy.

Pediatric Massage - Children need Massage!

Today’s society believes that our children have “no business” receiving a reward such as a massage.  After all children have not worked as hard as most adults throughout life.  We have been taught for centuries that massage is only a means of pampering oneself and that it could not possibly be a preventative health care method.  This is a misconception that continues to misguide our children.  What we have learned as children and now as adults, are that the common aches, pains and stresses are due to “grown-up situations.”  On the contrary, we now know that our aches and pains could have been managed or dealt with when we were children.

“Most of our aches, pains, and stressors as adults are the result not from injuries, but from long term effects. Distortions in posture and behavioral circumstances have their origins in childhood or adolescence.”

Whether adult or child, we all have to deal with stress in our lives.  The stress can be of physical or emotional nature.  We must address these issues now so that we may avoid any prolonged neglect to our bodies.  Massage is a necessity in raising healthy children.
